Bring the Natural Beauty of Black Walnut to Your Bar
Take a look at live edge black walnut tabletops from some of my past builds—and keep checking back. I’m always building something new, and I’ll continue adding finished projects and unique pieces for even more inspiration.
Each live edge black walnut tabletop is custom made specifically for your bar at $75 per linear foot. The standard size is 12.5" wide and approximately 1.5" thick, with the length made to match the bar you’ve chosen.
Because we leave the natural edge of the tree intact, every slab has its own shape, grain, knots, color variations, and character. I finish the walnut with an oil-based finish that brings out the natural richness of the wood rather than covering it up with paint or stain.
See a tabletop you like? Use it as inspiration for your own bar. While no two pieces of live edge walnut will ever be exactly alike, that’s part of what makes this option so special—your tabletop will be completely unique to your bar.
Which Tabletop Are We Upgrading?
Tabletop upgrades apply to the outside, upper tabletop—the showpiece of your bar. The inside work surface comes standard with 3/4" stained plywood, perfect for mixing drinks and everyday use.
The inside tabletop can also be upgraded, but in my opinion, the outside is where premium materials like live edge black walnut make the biggest impact.
What Makes Live Edge Black Walnut Different?
Most lumber you see at a typical home improvement store has been cut into straight, uniform dimensions, removing the natural shape of the tree. Live edge walnut takes a different approach.
Imagine taking a growing black walnut tree, cutting it lengthwise into slabs, straightening one edge, and leaving the other edge just as nature created it. That natural, organic edge becomes the outside edge of your tabletop, giving every bar its own unique shape and character.
Black walnut is one of those woods that doesn’t need much help to look incredible. Its naturally rich colors and beautiful grain patterns are the star of the show. Rather than covering it with stain or paint, I apply an oil-based finish that brings out the depth, color, and grain already hiding in the wood.
And it isn't just about looks. Black walnut is a dense, durable hardwood, making it an excellent choice for a strong tabletop that's meant to be used and enjoyed.
Best of all, because we're working with the natural shape and grain of a real tree, no two live edge walnut tabletops will ever be exactly the same.
You’ve Reached the End… For Now.
I’m always building something new. As new live edge walnut bars leave the shop, I’ll continue adding my favorite tabletops here. Check back anytime for new grain patterns, natural edges, and even more inspiration for your own custom bar.
And remember—no two pieces of live edge walnut are ever exactly alike. The tabletop you choose will have its own natural grain, character, and edge, making your finished bar truly one of a kind.
